Royal academy of fine arts, 2016

This publication is based on a section from Italo Calvino’s novel If On a Winter’s Night a Traveler, which I created in my first year at the academy as part of a typography experiment. The project asked us to explore how text and layout work together, using typography to reflect the novel’s fragmented, multi-layered storytelling. In this design, I tried to capture the novel’s atmosphere of shifting viewpoints and broken stories, while playing with type, empty space, and composition to create a sense of being drawn into the story.
